When I decided to dedicate my full energy to building this blog, I had no idea if I would ever be able to make a sustainable income from home. I read posts from other people saying that it was possible, but honestly, it seemed like a pipe dream. The truth is that I am still far from where I would like to be, but things have certainly changed in the past five months. In February, I finally reached taxable income status! My total income in February was $508, and that is so exciting! But where does it all come from?
When I first started seriously blogging, I stumbled across byRegina.com. Regina is absolutely amazing. Her website is full of resources to help bloggers of all levels improve. One of the things that really stood out to me was the fact that she does a monthly blog income report. Seeing how much money she made gave me hope that I could make an income working from home. More importantly, seeing that she wasn’t making all of her money from advertisements helped me focus on diversifying my income streams. (Regina’s Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, & Instagram)
I know that it isn’t polite to talk about money, but breaking into the blogging and work from home world is intimidating. I want to help anyone who comes across this post know that if I can do it, they can do it too. Rather than waiting until I am making thousands of dollars per month, I am going to start posting these monthly income reports now, when my per hour income is way less than minimum wage. As the blog (and my income) grows, I hope you will get inspired and start making your own work from home and blogging dreams come true.
