We just had a great weekend, and there was a lot to celebrate. (More on that in an upcoming post.) Friday evening, we got together and had a family game night and pizza night. We played Skipbo and Apples to Apples, and ate DIGIORNO pizzeria! thin pizzas. Needless to say, it was a delicious and fun evening.
The pizzas were easy to find at the grocery store, and simple to cook. They cook directly on the grate in the oven so no need to dirty any dishes.
When they came out of the oven, I had to stop and take a few pictures for the post. As you can see, we had quite the selection. There was Supreme, Margherita, and Pepperoni.
Everyone enjoyed the pizza (which we received complimentary from DIGIORNO in exchange for a review). My personal favorite of the evening was pepperoni, but the supreme disappeared pretty quickly. It had a little bit of a bite to it which was a pleasant surprise.
I did feel that the pizzas were a little small for the price if you are feeding a large family, and my brother hated that they were squares rather than circles. But the flavor was really really good, and it’s nice to have high quality pizza in your freezer just ready to go when you need it most.
Most importantly, the crust. The crust on these pizzas was the best I have ever had on any frozen pizza. Seriously, I would happily eat the crust by itself. As a matter of fact, I really wish they would sell just this crust as a dough so I could bake it by itself. If you are a carbohydrate lover, you have to try these pizzas.
While we ate pizza, we played a couple of games. Skipbo is one of our family’s favorites. My grandma actually gave me this version for my bridal shower and said, “now this is all you can do on your honeymoon.” Man, I miss that woman!
After Skipbo, we pulled out Apples to Apples for some hilarious word pairings. At the end of every game, we always read the green cards we’ve won and say that they represent us. I would say that Annan’s cards were right on the money – well at least half of them. You decide which half… 🙂
Of course, my poor mom wasn’t too happy since the only green card she had was “heartless”.
All in all, it was a delightful evening with great pizza. I’m glad we chose to celebrate by staying in rather than going out.
Note: Our grocery store didn’t have the Spinach & Mushroom so we didn’t get to try it that night. But we ended up finding it at a different store locally, and the hubby and I had a date night on Monday with delicious pizza. The Spinach & Mushroom is definitely our favorite. Great for a date night and well worth every penny!
